I’d highly recommend travelling a wee bit past the concert hub of Glastonbury … and stroll through the 12th century St. Andrews Cathedral in the town of Wells …

A rotund church cat.
Scissor arches.
A working 13th century clock with lunar year wheel.

Worn stone steps.
The previously unknown Linley family.
A bishop resting above Death.
Afterwards, if on Saturday, there is a lovely outdoor local market, with meats, ciders rugs, flowers and jewelry, of which I managed somehow to NOT photograph any of that. But I did walk away with a silver thumb ring … an early birthday present.
Wells is a right and proper way to spend a day out on a Saturday.
Happy Sunday.
