So, 2025

This morning I am checking in on 2025.

*******

January.

Okay, January was a two headed coin.

On the one side I was on month 2 of being in England and thoroughly loving my life being in England.

On the other side, however, I picked up a coughing cold/flu (I don’t know the difference anymore) that emptied the medicine cabinet of paracetamol and lozenges and took most of January to get past, which was followed by 3 weeks more to recover from two pulled sore sides.

So, boo and yay to January.

*******

February.

Without worth of a lie, I thought we had half of February to go. That was until yesterday evening when I was informed that there is a week left.

Argh!

What’s the deal?

Well, we have a website deployment tentatively scheduled for the first week of April.

Not just a few new features, this new application is going to replace an existing application that has been in use for, no kidding, 15 years.

I know, right?

15 years is downright nutty. What makes this even nuttier is that I am one who designed it 15 years ago. But, that is for another post.

Anyway, now I am very very very behind getting users up to speed about this impending work world change.

Whoops!

So, this morning I am calmly freaking out about February.

*******

With those things, I am thrilled to report that also in 2025 I am moving in April.

To recap, I am where I am because where I was had a no-fault electrical fire on March 17th 2024, which forced me out. Oh, I took the best thing I could find, but I simply do not align with this area’s politics or it’s excessive leaf blowing addictions.

So, I’ve been looking for over 6 months, and finally settled on a top floor flat, with windows and a balcony that frame the river and downtown area across the way, and has a planetary sphere direct view to the stars above.

Super cool.

In full disclosure, however, down below past the manicured green lawn looks a lot like New Jersey near Giants’ Stadium. It’s an oversized large dirt field/pseudo parking area for scattered white work vehicles and a few work trailers.

Yeah, it’s definitely a Sopranos-esque abandoned wasteland.

No matter. I’m not a big fan of looking down anyway. Both metaphorically and literally.

*******

So, that’s that … and March wasn’t even mentioned.

And with that … I’ve got to get myself out of here and back to work so I can, er, fix the glitch having to with that shhhhhhhhhhhhh thing I mentioned earlier.

Then I have a date with a jeep, some tunes, and the sunshine.

Happy Saturday.
