I welcomed the New Year in by blasting Frank Sinatra after the ball dropped in Times Square as I chatted with my friend on the phone, who five hours earlier we passed his decade away with scenes from around the London Eye.
Then I went out to the front porch and listened to the sound of fireworks popping around the city as I sipped my bubbly.
But that was last year.
There was a lot of laughter, saying goodbye to 2019. It was, in a word, fun. So much so one of the first things I did in 2020 was to take an aspirin. Not grossly required, just as a precaution.
The rest of the day I am grateful to simply chill out and be a hermit. Then tomorrow and the next are dedicated to getting my new website design going for the customer to review in the coming weeks. And on the 23rd I am off to life in England … I took care of those tickets yesterday. I’ll be back sometime early February.
A solid plan for this new year and new month, if I don’t say so myself.
Now, onto that second glass of water.
Happy January 1 2020.
