August

It’s been awhile since I was last here.

Almost a month, to be exact.

My excuse is simple.

I’ve been spending my time in a space where my day to day world has been filled every minute; with thoughts, reflections, reads, sleep, work, play, walks, drives and conversations.

So much so, there has been no other time to spare to do to anything else.

And it’s been nice beyond nice.

Now, that is not to say that I have not been involved in stuff that has made me pause.

Great example: About 2 Thursdays ago, a storm blew through the place I rent, and a branch like a spear fell off a high tree and pierced through my Jeep’s cover, its soft top roof and almost made an exit by way of the back side window.

I wasn’t there but I got texts from a couple of people along with eight pics showing me all angles of a 10 foot wooden tree dagger sticking out the top of my car.

Based on the back and forth chats I had, I think I was supposed to be upset by this event.

Hand to heart? I spent maybe, and I do mean maybe, 1 second caring.

In this sequence, this was my reaction.

  1. Never have I heard of such a thing being done by a branch falling from a tree.
  2. What are the odds, that of all places to fall in that big barn of yard of a property, did Mother Nature opt for that sweet spot?
  3. I’m glad no one was hurt.
  4. Duct taped on the roof is only going to add street cred to my Jeep.

After spending all of June and most of July in a funk that weighed heavily of me, both mentally and self esteem-wise, I’ve been soaking in this respite to enjoy the greens and the blues of a Welsh countryside:

Ugly right?

Happy Monday.
