The Win Column

I’m spending my Saturday with online reads and my playlist podcasts, wearing baggy overalls until it’s time for dinner, when I need to figure out if I want to watch the Kentucky Derby at the house or surrounded by strangers in a bar. Either I’ll enjoy.

It’s a day of laze for me and I’m all in. Yesterday I got the call that the job I was up for is mine for the taking. And I really really wanted it. There’s going to be delay in start date whilst contractual stuff occurs, but if it all works out, it will be FANtasTIC.

I’m slightly bummed by the delay, but, turning my frown upside down, it allows me to go on a road trip to New Hampshire in about three weeks. Our family friends are moving there and I’m driving up their second car. Last night I asked my mother to join me. A wee adventure with my Mum whilst helping out people I like and we will miss?

Also yesterday, I was told by Rick and Jenny, the neighbours three doors down that one of the tenants between us is moving out. This is prayers-answered-awesome. That nightmare situation has been a bonding factor on Rose Avenue, as we are equally stressed by how disgusting those idiots are. Trash literally vomits out of both their front and back doors. It’s shocking and gross. I’d post a picture to show just how horrible except I don’t want to cement those images here. One less facially scabby druggie loser on my street?

So I’m swimming in a world of reduced anxiety in my oversized clothes as I listen to an old Gilmore Guys podcast with Kevin and Demi and guest Matt Mira. It’s making me smile and periodically giggle out loud. All my emails are caught up. Bills paid. The house is cool and calm. The sun is shining. C’mon now.

Win.
